The Bushwick Starr is now accepting applications for Fall 2016 internships
Interns are essential to The Bushwick Starr team and our ability to host the many artists we welcome throughout our season. We are seeking candidates interested in learning about Arts Administration and Production within the NYC independent theater scene.
Interns will primarily be paired with Season artists and will complete tasks both in and out of the rehearsal room. Participants will get a broad overview of the collective workings of our close-knit staff through involvement with shows presented in our Season as well as various special projects and events. Interns will also gain nonprofit administrative experiences which can include basic budgeting and marketing, project and personnel management, grant and business writing, customer service, and facility maintenance.
Fall internships typically last from September-December but beginning/ending dates will be mutually agreed upon on an individual basis based on the project needs and availability. On average, a commitment of at least 2-3 days per week is required, but depending on rehearsal schedules there might be periods that are more or less intense. Exact demands may vary by production schedule and department. Partial travel stipend available.
